5 Year old Brooke Healey, daughter of Steve and Stefani, of New Providence, was diagnosed with Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG) an inoperable, very aggressive tumor in the middle of the brain stem - the Pons on January 14, 2013. After a courageous and valiant battle, Brooke passed away September 9th, 2013.
During the 8 months of Brooke's brave fight against DIPG, she continued to bring smiles to everyone's face with her smirk, her wit and her larger than life personality. She brought people from all over the world together, from Thailand to Germany to the United States. She made old friends new again and brought new friends together. She is a hero to all who shared her journey through the words of her mother and father, who no matter the difficulty they were up against, continued to keep all of us informed step by step, allowing us to become closer to them as a family. She showed us all what the words courage, love, compassion and support meant.
We all have one goal, to find a cure for DIPG. Together, we can and will continue the fight in honor of our Little Scrapper!!!
